Join the City on Friday, September 26 at 5:30 p.m. for a special community celebration as we rededicate Let It Be Known, Ventura’s oldest public art mural, at the Westpark Community Center. Originally painted in 1978 by artist Ricky Delgado and redesigned in 1996 by MB Hanrahan in collaboration with local youth groups, the mural has now been restored for a second time. This rededication honors the mural’s legacy and ensures its powerful message lives on for future generations.
Spotlight on Local Art at the Westpark Skatepark
While you’re at Westpark, don’t miss the stunning murals at the Westpark Community Skatepark by local artists Josh Burns and Kyle Navarro. Known for their deep roots in Ventura County’s art scene, Josh and Kyle have spent the last 20 years creating public art, mentoring youth through programs like the AAA Art Program, and building a thriving sign business.

Their murals – created using aerosol, acrylic, oil paint, detailed stenciling, and brushwork – combine technical skill with bold storytelling, making each piece both intricate and inspiring. Westpark Community Skatepark. 450 W Harrison Ave.
