The downtown Ventura Mexican restaurant, located at 598 E. Main St., has closed for good, owner Carlos Ortiz announced.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Limon Y Sal effective Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Thank you for allowing the staff and Management to serve you for nearly 10 years. Ten years is no small feat, and words cannot express gratitude for your continued support, which was key to reaching this milestone. A special thank you to Mark and Kathy Hartley for their never-ending support.
However, after nearly 10 years of serving Downtown Ventura, Limon y Sal has made the tough decision to close its doors. Downtown Ventura is synonymous with our restaurant but the insecurity of the closing and opening of Main Street since the COVID pandemic has left the restaurant with few opportunities to grow. It was the goal of Management to bring cultural events to Downtown Ventura but the city has made it clear that there is little interest in them. Our Mexican roots run deep and we now see each challenge as encouragement to return to our roots.”
