Narrative:
On July 26, 2025, at 1:27 pm, the Ventura Police Department Communications Center received a report of a man with a gun outside a residence on McFarlane Drive, east of Ventura Avenue. The caller stated that the suspect had confronted another individual with a firearm.
Patrol officers responded and identified the suspect as Braulio Acosta, a resident of the area. The investigation revealed that a neighbor had a relative visiting who parked near Acosta’s home. Acosta reportedly exited his residence to confront the visitor about loud music coming from the vehicle. During the encounter, Acosta allegedly produced a handgun, pointed it at the visitor, and aggressively poked the victim in the chest with the weapon.
Officers located Acosta shortly afterward and found him in possession of a loaded firearm. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Ventura County Jail.
No injuries were reported during this incident.
