Ventura May Day Rally Friday: Workers Over Billionaires
National Day of Action Calls For No Work, No School, No Shopping
WHAT: A May Day rally hosted by local pro-democracy organizations Indivisible Ventura, Justice For All Ventura County, 50501 Ventura County will be held May 1 in Ventura, as part of a nationwide day of action.
With more than 3,300 events across the country, May Day Strong organizers are calling for a day of “No School, No Work, No Shopping” to disrupt the billionaire takeover of our country and to put working families first. Because when the billionaires break every rule, it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them.
WHO: Workers, students, families and community members will stand against the billionaire agenda and build collective power.
WHY: Families across the country are facing rising costs of housing, healthcare, groceries, and child care while billionaires and corporations attack our neighbors, shred government budgets to fill their pockets, and reshape the rules to protect their power.
On May 1, participants will demand:
- Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first.
- No ICE, No War. No private army serving authoritarian power.
- Expand democracy. Defend free and fair elections.
Like the previous No Kings rallies in Ventura, there will be a mutual aid food drive for farmworker families with Poder Popular. More than a dozen local community groups, including VC Defensa and 805 Undocufund, will be onsite with details about their programs. For more event information, including a parking map and list of food items for Poder Popular, visit https://
A commitment to nonviolent action is a core principle behind all May Day events. All hosts and participants are expected to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who may disagree.
