Community Kev was out at the Ventura Pier on Saturday, November 16th, Catching Memories with Reel Guppy Outdoors enthusiasts.
This event was a citizen science experience, combining research, fisheries management, and teambuilding. It was made possible with joint efforts from Channel Islands, High School Fishing Club, Pacific Office and Club, along with some Channel Islands interns.
This amazing program, which can be a career pathway, provides kids with fishing gear, hands-on lessons in fishing with their families, and tools like measuring devices and science logs to record their catches. Community Kev also taught the kids how to properly measure their harvest to ensure they follow fishing laws and regulations.
It was a beautiful day filled with learning, teamwork, and unforgettable memories on the pier! www.reelguppyoutdoors.com.
