Whether you were a strawberry fanatic or just looking for a sweet time, the Strawberry festival had something for everyone – from strawberry shortcake eating contests to live music and entertainment. The best part? It is “berry delightful” for all ages! The 40th annual Strawberry Festival returned to the Ventura County Fairgrounds on May 16–17, brining thousands of visitors together for one of Ventura County’s most popular community celebrations.
Known for its strawberry-inspired foods, family activities, arts and crafts booths, carnival rides, and oceanfront atmosphere, the festival has become a longtime tradition celebrating the region’s rich agricultural heritage and strawberry industry. Organizers described the 2026 event as the “ultimate summer kickoff,” with proceeds helping support local nonprofit organizations and scholarship programs throughout the community.
One of the biggest highlights this year was the exciting live entertainment lineup featuring tribute bands, soul, reggae, country, Latin music, and classic rock performances across the festival stages. Festival goers enjoyed acts including Twisted Gypsy, a high-energy Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Kings of Queen, Corazón De Maná, The Long Run Eagles Experience, Hot Southern Nights, Blue Breeze Band, and the Brandon Ragan Project. The festival’s mix of music created an upbeat atmosphere throughout the weekend, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to dance, relax, and enjoy Ventura’s coastal setting.
In addition to the music, visitors enjoyed strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry beverages, strawberry beer and dozens of specialty food booths. With live entertainment, community spirit, and family-friendly fun, the California Strawberry Festival continues to be one of Ventura’s signature annual events.
