Hopscotch arrived at Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) with a limp in his hind leg, possibly after being struck by a car. The VCAS veterinary team took X-rays immediately and determined that Hopscotch needs hip surgery. The VCAS Foundation can cover the procedure, but his recovery will require crate rest and close monitoring — neither of which can be properly provided in the shelter.
Could you help foster, adopt or rescue Hopscotch so he can get back to being the happy, hoppy guy he’s meant to be? He is 2 years old and great with people but will need to be kept separate from other dogs during the healing process.
If you can help, please apply at vcas.us/foster and email vcas.foster@ventura.org, indicating that you are specifically interested in Hopscotch, ID No. A872852.
Potential fosters or adopters can visit him at the shelter from 1 to 6 p.m. The VCAS team will be happy to discuss Hopscotch’s recovery needs in more detail.
