Weston is a very special dog. He carries a lot of fear, but also a deep desire to connect with people once he feels safe. During his time in a previous foster home, Weston showed what a gentle, easy companion he can be when given patience and security. He is housebroken, quiet, and mellow – he lets you know when he needs to go outside by sitting at the door. He doesn’t bark and walks beautifully on leash – like walking a feather!
While he is still learning to accept touch and can be very cautious, Weston has made progress: he now comes forward to be leashed, allows petting, and even being brushed. In a stable home he will continue to build confidence and may blossom further. Weston would do best in a home that can provide patience and consistency, a secure, quiet environment, and gentle guidance. He thrives when given reassurance and may benefit from a calm, confident dog to show him the ropes.
Weston is available to adopt from Ventura County Animal Services at 600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo CA. His adoption fee will be waived!
