As a former high school teacher, I know firsthand the incredible potential of our local students and the realities of financial barriers that often stand between them and their college degrees. That is why I am proud to share an opportunity that helps close that gap for some of our local students.
The California Legislative Central Coast Caucus Foundation (which I am a member of alongside my colleagues representing the coast) has officially opened applications for the Central Coast Impact Scholarship. This program is providing $4,000 scholarships to students right here in our region.
We established this foundation because we wanted to make a tangible difference for the communities we represent. Hearing how past recipients have used this funding to stay focused on their studies, rather than worrying about how to pay for textbooks or housing, reaffirms the importance of our annual scholarship.
If you have a child, grandchild, or neighbor who considers the Central Coast their home and is pursuing higher education, I highly encourage them to apply.
The Award: $4,000 per student to help fund their educational journey. Multiple scholarships will be awarded.
Who Can Apply: Students from Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz counties.
The Deadline: May 31, 2026, 11:59 PM.
