Register for Mulch Madness: Saturday, March 8
City of Ventura residents are invited to sign up for the next mulch and compost giveaway. Registered participants are invited to pick up free mulch and compost products. These products are sourced from Agromin and purchased by the City of Ventura to give away to residents free of charge.
Both mulch and compost are great additions to a home garden or residential landscape. Compost is a nutrient-rich soil amendment that helps improve soil health and supports plant growth. Mulch is used on the top layer of the soil to control weeds, retain moisture, regulate temperature, and make the garden bed look more attractive.
Participants will be expected to bag their own mulch and compost and bring their own bag or container to collect the material. Limited shovels will be provided.
Location:
City’s Maintenance Yard
336 Sanjon Rd.
What to bring:
-
Government I.D. or utility bill (proof of residency required)
-
Bag(s) or bucket(s) for mulch and/or compost
-
Shovel (some available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own)
-
Closed-toed shoes and gloves (recommended)
-
Sunglasses and a hat
