How does the passion and interest of one person create a place to share love of each other, along with love of community each month for 17 years?
The Ladies Luncheon Ventura was started in June 2009 by Laurie Ann Meyer, Broker Associate/CEO of Lifestyle Listings Real Estate/Realty One Group Summit in Ventura. She said, “Over the past 17 years we’ve shared laughter, tears, wisdom and countless stories that have inspired us all. We have built friendships, created memories, and supported one another through life’s many ups and downs, losses and gains. Our Ladies Luncheon has become more than just an event. It is a testament to the power of community and the strength of sisterhood.”
The Ladies Luncheon was started because women wanted a venue to meet at lunchtime and break away from their busy days in order to concentrate on community, connection and support. Women wear many hats, and at Ladies Luncheon, they discuss and share about themselves. There is no limit in categories and no membership fees. Members can attend every month or whenever it’s convenient.
According to Meyer, “At the heart of our success is one simple yet profound element: ‘Love.’ It is love that has been the foundation of the Ladies Luncheon. This includes: love for each other, love for our community, and love for the shared experiences that bind us all together.”
Elaine O’Malia, with Laine Designs, has been an integral part of Ladies Luncheon by maintaining marketing and the website, theladiesluncheon.com. She said, “We not only honor our past journey but also look forward to the future with hope and excitement. This will include continuing to uplift each other, celebrating our successes, and facing new challenges together. Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments! We have been starting to attract the younger generation, besides the Baby Boomers — Generation X, Millennials and Generation Z. We are looking forward to continuing on as long as women show a need for the connection and support that we offer.”
