Ventura Harbor Village’s Halloween Weekend 

Ventura Harbor Village invites the community to dive into a frightfully fun weekend by the sea as the waterfront transforms into a spirited Halloween destination Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26. 

Witches Paddle
Friday, October 24 at 4:00 pm
Kick off the weekend with a splash as costumed paddlers take to the harbor waters in a sea of pointy hats and spooky attire. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to secure their rental and join in the group photo at the Ventura Harbor Sign around 3:30 pm before launching at 4:00 pm. This annual paddle has become a coastal tradition, delighting onlookers from the promenade and waterfront restaurants.  

HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Costume Contest
Saturday, October 25 at Noon
Pups take center stage for one of Ventura’s favorite Halloween traditions. A parade of costumed canines will compete for prizes in five grand prize categories, judged by local community leaders. Every participant goes home with goodies, including treats from Ventura Pet Barn, plus special pup-cream from Coastal Cone. Space is limited, keep an eye on our event calendar to sign up soon!  

Seaside Trick-or-Treat
Sunday, October 26, Noon–3:00 pm
A Harbor tradition for families! Shops throughout Ventura Harbor Village will be ready to welcome little ghouls and goblins with candy stations starting at 1:00 PM (while supplies last). From Noon–1:00 PM, guests are encouraged to stroll the promenade, enjoy the festive vendors, and explore Halloween-themed offerings before the official trick-or-treating begins.  

Thriller Zombie Dance
Sunday, October 26 at 2:45 pm
Get ready to dance! Zombies will rise in unison for a lively performance of Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller on the Village Main Lawn. Guests are encouraged to stay and groove along.  

Additional Festivities

  • Professional Pumpkin Carving: Watch in awe as artist Dawn Reily from Suncat Creations transforms a giant pumpkin into an intricate masterpiece on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Halloween Shopping & Dining Specials: Themed treats, spooky sweets, and seasonal menu items will be available at Village restaurants and sweet shops, alongside fall décor, costumes, and accessories from seaside retailers.

A Coastal Celebration for All Ages

The Lost Boys

The Channel Islands Harbor transforms into a Halloween playground with Parade of Frights & Pumpkin Paddle!

  • Saturday, October 25, 2025
  • 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
  • 3900 Pelican Way, Oxnard

Pumpkin Paddle (10 am) – Kayakers and paddleboarders are invited to dress in costume and paddle from the East Bank Day Dock to Peninsula Park. Harbor Patrol will be on hand to ensure safety.

Parade of Frights (3 pm – 9 pm) – Enjoy family-friendly activities starting at 3 p.m., then stick around for the boat parade at 7 p.m. featuring decorated vessels lighting up the water.

Trunk or Treat

Downtown Ventura Costume Contest

  • Trick-or-Treating runs 4pm-7pm. All FREE!
  • Costume Contest begins at 3pm.
Downtown Mini Park, between Oak and Palm Streets.

Come dressed in your favorite costume and take part in the all ages costume contest at 3pm. Costume contest categories are infant-3, 4-7, 8-12, 13-17, 18+. Prizes will be offered for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!

Stay for the Trick-or-Treating throughout Downtown businesses from 4pm-7pm. Stop at every business with a Pumpkin sign in the window for a treat!

Also, don’t miss the Mission Youth Group’s annual Haunted Hotel outside the historic Mission, 225 E. Main St.

Haunted Alley

Halloween Haunted Alley PosterThe VFW in Ventura is hosting a “Haunted Alley” event with a “Spooktacular” family-friendly time, which includes live music from Monsters of Pop on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The event runs from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, and it is open to both kids and adults.
