Fireworks Downtown on July 3
Ventura will mark America’s 250th anniversary with a weeklong lineup of community events leading up to Independence Day, culminating with fireworks, a downtown street fair and the annual Pushem-Pullem Parade.
Festivities begin June 27 and continue through July 4 with activities ranging from a beach cleanup and car show to a 5K run, family picnic and live entertainment.
The celebration’s signature events take place July 4 in Downtown Ventura. Presented by the Rotary Club of Ventura-East, the Pushem-Pullem Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Main Street near Cemetery Memorial Park and flows directly into the annual Street Fair.
Residents are invited to decorate bicycles, scooters, strollers and wagons and join the parade. Motorized vehicles are not permitted.
The Street Fair will feature artisan vendors, a classic car exhibit, live entertainment, children’s activities, games and public safety demonstrations. Downtown shops and restaurants will also be open throughout the day.
A free bike valet, provided by the city’s Transportation Division and Bike Ventura, will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Main and Chestnut streets.
The celebration continues the evening of July 3 with live music from 7 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Ventura, followed by a fireworks show beginning at approximately 9 p.m. Spectators can tune into KBBY-FM 95.1 for a synchronized musical simulcast accompanying the display.
