The City of Ventura Parks & Recreation Department’s Arts & Culture Section is seeking proposals from professional artists or artist teams for the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent tiled sculpture or sculptural installation as part of the Surfers Point Phase II Improvement Project. This Request for Proposals invites artists to submit a preliminary concept and budget for a free-standing tiled artwork to be installed alongside the new pedestrian walkway at Surfers Point.
The public artwork will serve as a highly visible and enduring expression of Ventura’s surf culture and marine ecosystem. The City is seeking creative, site-responsive proposals that are durable, low-maintenance, and visually integrated with the coastal environment. The total project budget is $165,000 and includes all costs associated with design, fabrication, and installation.
