Students from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura received a memorable reward for their hard work and community involvement when California Resources Corporation (CRC) surprised them with tickets to a FIFA World Cup match.
The students were recognized for their academic efforts during the school year and their commitment to supporting fellow students and their community. They will attend Monday’s match between Iran and New Zealand.
During a special presentation, CRC leaders personally distributed tickets to youth participants from organizations serving families throughout Ventura County. The program was designed to give young people an opportunity to experience one of the world’s largest sporting events, an experience many might not otherwise have.
CRC, an energy and carbon management company with operations in Ventura County, said the ticket giveaway is part of its ongoing efforts to support local communities through youth programs and educational opportunities.
The company is California’s largest producer of oil and natural gas and is also investing in carbon management and carbon capture projects across the state.
