The Ventura County Homecare Association (VCHA) is a unique non-profit for healthcare professionals, which provides education of the home care delivery community through professional education, peer networking and support systems with optimum services to those entrusted to home and healthcare teams.

The focus of the organization is professional education for local healthcare organizations.  “Before membership consideration, applicants must meet certain standards such as licensure and provide optimum services to those entrusted to their care,” according to Marianne Knight, President of VCHA.

Knight continued, by saying, “VCHA was formed in 1990, as a non-profit, by 5 professionals who envisioned an organization focused on high standard of care in Ventura County.  It is unique to Ventura County and important that county and health care entities coordinate and support each other and ensure the highest of standards are met.”

VCHA membership includes individuals in organizations that facilitate services and care to patients and clients in either the home setting or licensed care facility. Members are listed online and in a printed directory based on service category which is available to professionals and the public.

Knight states, “The Direct Care service categories included in membership are the following:  Licensed Home Health Agencies and Hospice Services, In-Home Caregiving Services, Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living and Memory Care, Transportation services, and more.”

Barbara Colella, MS and VCHA Secretary states, “This is a unique organization, since it unifies different care continuum within Ventura County.  It allows professionals to meet and discuss solution driven outcomes and help patients/clients who receive care in skilled and non-skilled settings as well as at home.”

“Most people don’t understand the maze of choices or how to care for a loved one post discharge from hospital or skilled care. Planning and resources are important. The (3) three most important words in the English language are, ‘If then…?  Then what…?’.   It is imperative that clients/patients are aware of the many resources available in Ventura County.”

The 2025 upcoming meetings for the VCHA include August 20th, 2025 “Panel Discussion of Local Hospitals Updated Information”. On October 15th, 2025, the topic “Innovation in Healthcare for Ventura County” and on December 10th it is the “Holiday Luncheon and Celebration”.

Meetings are held at Spanish Hills Country Club located at 999 Crestview Avenue, Camarillo, CA from 11:00am to 1:00pm and professional networking is between 11:00-11:30am.
