10/12

7:57pm, received dispatch to an Ocean Rescue, unclothed person jumping into the water and swimming out past the waves. Officers responded in the Fireboat to assist VFD, VPD and AMR with the victim who was safely returned to shore.

Wednes
10/13

8:10am, observed a wounded pelican at the Santa Clara Rivermouth, officers captured it for sea bird rescue volunteers for rehabilitation.

12:35pm, dispatched to an unconscious person on promenade near Harbor Cove Café. Officers responded and found a transient sleeping, no medical.

Friday
10/15

11:59pm, dispatched to fall victim in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted AMR with the patient to the gurney. Patient transported.

Saturday
10/16

2:50am, dispatched to fall victim in the HarborTown point. Officers responded on foot to assist a 76 y/o male who was lying on the floor. Patient transported.

7:33am, dispatched to a sick person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted 79 y/o female who was transported to hospital by AMR.

11:35am, dispatched to a fall victim at Ventura Marina Community, officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with a 98 y/o female.

1:20pm, dispatched to a stingray strike at Harbor Cove. Officers responded and assisted a 35 y/o male with a puncture wound, patient transported by AMR..

Sunday
10/17

3:28am, dispatched to unconscious person at VWM parking lot. Officers responded and assisted VPD with the patient who was intoxicated in his vehicle.

Monday
10/18

9:35am, officers on Fireboat taking National Park Service bird experts to count the pelicans on the breakwall. Also, to look for oiled or injured sea birds.

2:15pm, receiving multiple reports of an injured sea lion at VWM C-dock. Officers educated callers on the CIMWI website contact # to assist the mammal.

Wednes
10/20

4:22pm, received report from California Fish & Wildlife about the injured sealion at VWM C-dock. A veterinarian is monitoring the injured animal and believes it can recover from their injuries naturally. Advised marina manager.

Thursday
10/21

10:35pm, received a report that a fellow fisherman is moving hoop nets without the RP’s permission. Officers on patrol in Rescue B17 contacted the individual and he stated that a sealion was in the area and moving the hoop nets not him.

Saturday
10/23

10:15am, observed National Weather Service issued a Small Craft Advisory for winds gusting to 25kts and large surf, 8-10ft Northwest swell.

10:30am, observed six commercial lobster traps in the entrance. Officers were unable to remove due to hazardous conditions from large waves in the entrance.

7:33pm, received report of a skiff adrift in the mid area of the harbor. Officers responded in the Fireboat but were unable to locate any skiffs adrift.

Sunday
10/24

10:30am, received report of a dock float secured in a slip at the Ventura Yacht Club. Officers contacted construction company from VIM to retrieve the float.

11:30am, observed all commercial lobster traps have “walked” to the breakwall.

2:55pm, dispatched to an ill person at the Portside development. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the call. The patient refused assistance.

Monday
10/25

4:17pm, while on patrol in the vehicle, observed hazardous conditions at South Beach. 8-10ft Northwest swell, waves breaking everywhere and West winds gusting to 30kts. Observed a few surfers catching waves in Harbor Cove.
