Vol. 12, No. 3 – Nov 7 – Nov 20, 2018 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi there! My name is Scarlett and I’m a 9 year old chow/cattle dog mix!   I’m not sure what they dressed me up as the bride of Frankenstein or a troll doll.  I’m just glad it was temporary.

I’m a very low maintenance dog that all of the volunteers enjoy spending time with! I’m getting a little too old to do extensive walks or exercise, but I thoroughly enjoy brief walks! I like to romp around in the grass and hang out with my favorite people. I don’t like all dogs though, so if you have a furry friend please bring them so we can exchange some sniffs!

It would be such a privilege for me to just spend time with my foster or forever family. I don’t require much…just some love and affection mixed with some yummy treats!

I have never been tested with cats, but I’m pretty easy going so we might be able to coexist!

If I sound like the mellow, loving girl for you, please stop by to meet me! Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Tommy 3 a 12 years young Shepherd mix in need of a new home. Although my mom loves me very much, she had to move and could not take me too. I know there will be people who say I’m too old, but I’m not. I still have lots of love to give to my special someone.

I’m always happy and I’m a favorite of volunteers and staff. I’m still active and I love going for walks. I do well in playgroups at the kennel with the other dogs, but I prefer females to the males. If you have a dog in your home, please bring her/him along so we can do a meet and greet. I’m in a foster home and live with a cat. I’m good with children and I’m housetrained. I hope you’ll give me a chance and come to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Mathias is an enduring older gentleman who is looking for a lap and comfy
kitty beds to enjoy! He is a middle of the road kind of guy he likes
attention but is not needy. He likes to be petted, brushed and to play with a
laser pointer toy. He has a touch of arthritis, or maybe an old football injury, and therefore
walks with a bit of a wobble. He is presently in Foster Care. But wants his own forever home!

Hi; I’m Bentley, a gentle, very friendly, 12 year-young senior boy who has been a C.A.R.L. resident for three years.  I’m a happy, mellow, mild-mannered guy who just wants to chill beside his human pals.  I have arthritis and don’t need or require a lot of activity – short walks or meandering around the backyard.  I’m becoming kennel stressed and need a foster home or even better my forever home!  I would love to be curled up on your couch, being loved and cherished as the very special pup that I am…won’t you consider making me yours?

Hi: I’m Bentley an affectionate 11 year old American Staffordshire Terrier / Labrador mix. I’m in need of a new home because my owner travels too much and doesn’t have time for me. I enjoy hiking on cool days or just laying in your lap. I’m friendly with people, but choosy with other dogs. I’d do best in a home with an experienced dog owner, no dogs and no cats.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to go for over night stays with my favorite C.A.R.L. volunteer Marion. I’m ok with Marion’s 2 small dogs so if you have a dog as a family member, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet.
Marion says I’m a great dog in the home, house broken and love to just hang around. All I want is a warm, loving home. So whats not to like? If you have room in your heart and home for a guy like me, please stop by and meet me. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Vol. 11, No. 24 – Aug 29 – Sept 11, 2018 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi, I’m Ted a handsome 5 year old Siberian Husky / Shepherd X who is in need of a new family and home as my owners moved and I couldn’t go too. I’m good with big dogs, but it’s unknown how I would do with smaller dogs. I’m very active and need a family that will give me not only love, but daily exercise and playtime too. I love the water and chasing the birds at the beach. I also love chasing balls, running and hugs too. I’m good with older children, but have not been around smaller ones. I might do best in an adult only home or with older children. I need a home with no cats and I don’t like possums or raccoons. If I sound like the addition to your family that you’ve been looking for, please stop by and meet me. Although the C.A.R.L. staff and volunteers are great, I’d much rather be in an active loving home. Minimum 6′ fence. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Muneca a 2 year old American Bulldog in need of a new home as one of the dogs I used to live with did not want me around. I’m friendly with other dogs, but under socialized with people. Hula is a fun-loving, sweet dog. She came to the shelter with her sister when their previous owner could no longer keep them due to housing issues.Ever since then, Hula has patiently been waiting for her new person to find her. But that hasn’t dampened her spirits!

She loves going for walks and even gets to go on weekly bike runs with one of the volunteers. In the play yard, Hula is a joy to watch chasing her favorite tennis ball and exploring her surroundings Her previous owner reported that Hula was house trained, enjoys car rides and baths, and described her as “very loving, likes to cuddle, and likes to lounge”.

Hi: I’m Parker a very sweet 4 year old Dachshund mix rescued from Animal Services. I’m very affectionate, love walks, treats and being with people. If left alone, you may want to crate train me instead of leaving me outside in the backyard. If left alone outside I will probably dig out unless the bottom of the fence is reinforced. It’s unknown how I’d do with other dogs, but when walked near other dogs I seemed to do fine. Once I settle in I’ll get to participate in playgroups at C.A.R.L.’s kennel facility. If you’re looking for a companion to accompany you everywhere, stop by and meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Remy is just as wonderful as can be. If you ask to meet him, you’ll see that he is sweet, gentle and loves to get head scratches from you. Look into his eyes and you’ll see a heart of gold under his black fur. His story is a bit of a sad one: Someone dropped him off at a pet store and left him there.

The employees had no choice but to bring him to the shelter. He is still hopeful that there’s someone out there who will love him and make sure he is never abandoned again. Ventura County Animal Services – Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Dr. Remy A650841

Hi: I’m Cole 2 a cute 3 year old Chihuahua X who was rescued from Animal Services. I’m grateful to be given a chance to find my forever home.

I’m currently in a foster home with 2 other small dogs. I respond best to a calm structured environment. I am a bit fearful and anxious, once I get to know you I am a fun and sweet dog but I do take a while to get used to new people and dogs. It should be on my terms, at my own pace. I have received training and I’m walking well on leash. I am beginning to be comfortable with one of my foster siblings, but needed to be separated for 3 weeks. On walks when encountering bigger dogs I do show some anxiety and will bark and pull, but my foster mom is working with me on not doing that.

I would do best in a quiet home where someone is home most of the time. At this time it is not recommended that I go to a home with children. While I love attention from the person that I trust, I am not a lap dog.

If you’re a patient, loving person who is willing to continue with my training, please stop by and meet me. I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life making wonderful memories with my special someone. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Kenny a very sweet 2 year old Chihuahua mix rescued from Animal Services where I came in from a hoarder case with multiple other dogs. I love attention, being carried and being on laps. I enjoy walks, treats and people. While at Animal Services, I was in a run with other dogs and seemed to get along. Once I settle in I’ll be able to participate in playgroups at the kennel. I know the C.A.R.L. staff and volunteers will shower me with lots of love and attention, but what I really want is to be a cherished member of a loving family.
