Vol. 11, No. 21 – July 18 – July 31, 2018 – Forever Homes Wanted

Remy is just as wonderful as can be. If you ask to meet him, you’ll see that he is sweet, gentle and loves to get head scratches from you. Look into his eyes and you’ll see a heart of gold under his black fur. His story is a bit of a sad one: Someone dropped him off at a pet store and left him there.

The employees had no choice but to bring him to the shelter. He is still hopeful that there’s someone out there who will love him and make sure he is never abandoned again. Ventura County Animal Services – Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Dr. Remy A650841

Hi: I’m Cole 2 a cute 3 year old Chihuahua X who was rescued from Animal Services. I’m grateful to be given a chance to find my forever home.

I’m currently in a foster home with 2 other small dogs. I respond best to a calm structured environment. I am a bit fearful and anxious, once I get to know you I am a fun and sweet dog but I do take a while to get used to new people and dogs. It should be on my terms, at my own pace. I have received training and I’m walking well on leash. I am beginning to be comfortable with one of my foster siblings, but needed to be separated for 3 weeks. On walks when encountering bigger dogs I do show some anxiety and will bark and pull, but my foster mom is working with me on not doing that.

I would do best in a quiet home where someone is home most of the time. At this time it is not recommended that I go to a home with children. While I love attention from the person that I trust, I am not a lap dog.

If you’re a patient, loving person who is willing to continue with my training, please stop by and meet me. I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life making wonderful memories with my special someone. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Kenny a very sweet 2 year old Chihuahua mix rescued from Animal Services where I came in from a hoarder case with multiple other dogs. I love attention, being carried and being on laps. I enjoy walks, treats and people. While at Animal Services, I was in a run with other dogs and seemed to get along. Once I settle in I’ll be able to participate in playgroups at the kennel. I know the C.A.R.L. staff and volunteers will shower me with lots of love and attention, but what I really want is to be a cherished member of a loving family. Hi: I’m Madison a beautiful senior Australian Shepherd / Chow X who was originally rescued from VC Animal Services where I was turned in for being too old. Thankfully C.A.R.L. didn’t think I was too old and I soon found a new home. Sadly my owner has to move without me. I’m grateful to C.A.R.L.’s lifetime commitment to all of their dogs and they welcomed me back with open arms. I know I’ll get lots of attention and great care while I’m here, but what I really want is my forever home.

I’m a mellow lady who enjoys going for walks and is good with children, dogs and cats too. I’m super sweet and friendly to everyone I meet. Balls are my favorite toy. Please stop by and meet me, I still have lots of love to give to my special someone. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

You know how the older you get, the more you appreciate just being with the people who love and understand you? Can you imagine being an animal that exists for human companionship and having to live without it well into your senior years? Cowboy has in a kennel for the past 5+ years and it’s killing him.

He is depressed. Cowboy is as lovable, smart, goofy and charismatic as they come but people pass him over because he’s a senior , a pit bull mix and will need a patient and empathetic handler.

Cowboy knows all his basic commands and his best friend and certified professional dog trainer, Genie Tuttle from Dog Genie, is offering free training services and full support to the lucky person who welcomes him into their home.

The team here at CARL ache for him but they can only do so much. Seeing seniors live out their golden years in a kennel is one of the most heart-breaking things you’ll witness in the shelter world. If you are interested in fostering (even for one night) adopting or have any questions about Cowboy, text or e-mail Genie. 479 – 8900 genie@doggenie.com.

When adoptable Nala arrived at the doors of Ventura County Animal Services in early February, this brave mama rabbit was in the midst of giving birth to four babies. The VCAS Bunny Brigade sprang into action to place Nala and her newborns into foster care. Nala took good care of her little ones until they were old enough to be weaned.

Nala is now spayed and ready for a loving, indoor home of her own. To meet Nala and learn more about the importance of spaying and neutering domestic rabbits, please visit VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID #A681274. Hi: I’m Max an outgoing 3 year old Cattle Dog mix in need of a new home. My parents need to take care of an elderly family member who needs daily care. I wish I could stay and they do too, but unfortunately I cannot.

I’m good with other dogs. I’ve never been around younger children. I love being around my people and want to be a part of what is going on. I’m active and will need daily exercise. That should be easy to do as I enjoy bike rides, walking and playing ball. I’ve had a couple of training sessions and learned to sit, lay down and I’m working on heal. I’m used to having someone home periodically during the day. I just want to be loved and to give love. Please stop by and meet me, I’ll be waiting. Ahoy, me hearty, Jackson the 8 year old one-eyed pirate Chihuahua X here hopin’ you’ll be givin’ me my forever home. Bertha was left behind at a hotel and her previous owners never came back for her ( I hope they at least paid for her room). She was scared and confused but never lost her sweet disposition. All she wants is to be loved and feel safe. She spent time in a foster home and her foster family can’t stop gushing over her.

She is coming out of her shell a little more every day, and with a patient, loving new owner, we know she will blossom and be the happy dog she deserves to be. Can you be the one to give her the chance at a new life? Bertha A682393
